Our Mission
Our mission is to make every line worth watching. Most non-potable lines in plants, commercial buildings and farms go unmonitored, not because sensors are expensive, but because getting power and data to them is. Tap Energy removes the wire, so the lines that were never worth wiring can finally be seen, and problems show up as trends instead of damage.
The Founder
Coty Church is the founder and CEO of Tap Energy, a Colorado hardware company building ConduitIQ: fluid telemetry for the water lines nobody monitors today. Before founding Tap Energy, Church spent nearly two decades developing and manufacturing products, more than a dozen of those years in hands-on R&D: branded consumer products, shop-floor jigs and fixtures, the automated equipment and processes that build products, and the products themselves. For the last five-plus years Church led a new product development engineering group, running $2M+ programs and cross-functional engineering teams, and was named an inventor on multiple granted patents. Church holds a BS in engineering with a mechanical emphasis, an MBA, and associate's degrees in manufacturing engineering technology and machine tool technology.
The company's win in the 2023 Regis University Innovation Challenge is a large part of why Church went full time on Tap Energy in 2025. Since then, Tap Energy has won a 2026 ASME ISHOW Americas award and taken part in The Magis Factory accelerator and NSF I-Corps customer discovery. Its turbine technology is patented in the U.S. and internationally.
The first complete ConduitIQ unit is in bench testing now, and pilots are planned for 2027. If you look after cooling loops, process water or irrigation lines and there's a line you wish you could see, we'd like to hear how you handle it today.
